FAQ's AND ALL THE ANSWERS

WHAT IS STYLEWARE?

We’re an Australian company bringing functional style to cupboards and tabletops across the world since 2021. Learn more about Our Story.

WHAT'S BEYOND THE BOWL?

What you can’t necessarily see is that each thoughtfully and locally designed piece we sell is about reducing waste. We’re committed to working with sustainability-focused partners. We’re also about supporting Australian-owned businesses. Let us know if you’d like to work together.

DO YOU HAVE STOCKISTS?

Yes! Head on over to our Stockist page to find your nearest store. Interested in becoming a stockist? Click here to request an account.

WHERE ARE STYLEWARE'S PRODUCTS MADE?

Styleware is made with local partners wherever possible. From the design to the manufacture, the Styleware Nesting Bowls Collection is entirely made here. And the Salad Set is designed in Australia but manufactured ethically in China. We only work with businesses that treat people how we would like to be treated.

WHAT IS THE STYLEWARE NESTING BOWL COLLECTION?

Our best-selling bowls are designed to be as useful as they are artful. In addition to reducing waste and eliminating messy leaks, the bowls comfortably nest within one another to simplify storage and are perfect for snacks, storage, meals, and tabletop and picnic centerpieces. If you’re not sure what size is right for you, jump back up to the bowl size guide.

ARE THE FOUR SIZES AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE INDIVIDUALLY?

Yes! We think picking and choosing is part of the process to make it your own, so all of our sizes are sold individually and in all core colours.

WHAT SIZES COME IN THE 2 PIECE AND 4 PIECE SETS?

We offer the 2-piece set (XS, S), because salads and bowls love dressings and dips, and the pair complement each other perfectly. And then, we offer our 4-piece set (XS, S, M, L), because honestly, you shouldn’t have to select your size until you’re serving. Life’s full of too many choices as it is! Both sets are available in all colours, so feel free to choose from our complementary palette when you shop the collection.

ARE THERE MATCHING SERVING UTENSILS?

Our Salad Set is available in the same colour options as our bowls (bar limited edition), so you can customise your servers, your way, too. The size of the utensils makes them an especially good fit for our Medium or Large nesting bowls.

WHAT ARE THE BOWLS AND LIDS MADE FROM?

All the bowls in our Styleware Nesting Bowls Collection are made from a high-quality, food-grade polypropylene, and the lids are made from an equally high-quality, food-grade polyether-polypropylene blend. We wanted our bowls to be lightweight but also long-lasting, so we could all keep waste to a minimum.

WHAT IS THE SALAD SET MADE FROM?

Our Salad Set is made from food-safe melamine, which is a highly durable and food-safe material.

WHAT ABOUT BPA AND PHTHALATES?

All pieces in the Styleware collection — bowls, lids, and yep, the saladware, too — are 100% BPA-free and 100% phthalate-free. That makes them safe for food, as confirmed through our independent testing.

IS STYLEWARE SAFE TO USE IN THE FRIDGE, FREEZER, DISHWASHER AND MICROWAVE?

Yes, yes, yes, and yes minus the lid! The Collection Care Guide included in the box you receive will get into all the nitty gritty instructions, but everything we offer is good — as in, good with food, good in the cold, good in water, and good with soap with one exception: the only piece that should stay out of the microwave is the lid.

IS STYLEWARE GOOD FOR LIQUIDS

Our Nesting Bowls are snap-tight and perfect for wet foods such as yoghurt, sauces and dips, however we do advise you take care with liquids. It’s best to ensure your bowls are seated on their base.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY STYLEWARE PIECES?

We have tips on how to keep each piece clean and make it last its longest, courtesy of the Collection Care Guide (which you’ll find included in the box), but the short version is that each piece is safe in the dishwasher and can be hand-washed.

CAN STYLEWARE BE REPURPOSED OR RECYCLED?

Yes, it was very important to our eco ethos that each piece be reusable. The Styleware Nesting Bowls Collection is fully recyclable, and our Salad Servers can be ground down for repurposing. Check with your local council for the correct way to properly recycle in your area.

WHAT ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL PACKAGING

Yes, all of our packaging is recyclable. Although the regulations depend on where you are located here are the general guidelines:

Mailer Bags- Red Soft Cycle

Boxes, Cardboard Inserts, Foam Inserts, Care guide – Standard Recycling Bin

COLLECTION CARE GUIDE

USING AND STORING

FIRST TIMER

Before first use give your lids and bowls a quick gentle handwash in soapy water and you’re good to go! See important tips for dishwasher use below.

SNAP TIGHT AND FRESH SEAL

Make sure to release air when seating your lids to ensure the best seal.

STYLEWARE'S BESTIES

Our bowls are best with plastic and wooden utensils, because they help to avoid any scratching.

CATCH THAT SHADE

Like the rest of us, avoid too much time in the sun. What burns and wrinkles us can fade and warp your Styleware, so be kind to your bowls.

NOT FOR THE BONFIRE

Avoid direct flames or heat, though warm food and microwaves work fine with your bowls (just pop the lid off before any nuking).

NOT A CUTTING BOARD

Don’t cut or slice food directly in or on your Styleware (duh!)

COOL ME DOWN (A LITTLE)

When heated, foods that are high in fat, sugar, or oil can burn your Styleware pieces. To avoid any permanent damage, avoid transferring them into your bowls before they’ve had time to cool down.  Likewise, never seal your lid with steaming foods as gas trapping may lead to the lid popping off and burns/damage may result. Ensure the contents have cooled sufficiently before sealing.

DON'T SEAL AND STORE

Here’s one you might not know: When you store your Styleware, keep the lids stacked in their own pile, and the bowls nested together (as opposed to sealing the lids on the bowls, which can affect air freshness).

USE ONLY AS RECOMMENDED

Captain obvious? Clearly, this is the one the lawyers make us say.

CLEANING

YOUR LOVING HANDS ARE BEST

A soft sponge or cloth and warm soapy water is the best thing for your Styleware and will help to preserve glossy finishes.

BUT DISHWASHER'S ARE TOTALLY SAFE TOO

All Styleware pieces are dishwasher safe — hurrah! — but extreme heat warps, so stick to 45 degree cycles, and keep your bowls and lids on the top rack, carefully positioned so they’re not squished between other items. ALWAYS run your bowl and its lid in the same load to maintain the integrity of the seal.

AVOID ABRASIVES

In life, are we right? Seriously though, abrasive cleaners will dull the finish or scratch your Styleware.

STAINS ARE A NO-NO

To help avoid them, rinse your Styleware immediately after use with warm water when you’ve gone for more colourful foods, like tasty curries, dyed iced cupcakes, tomato pastes, watermelon and whatnot, or opt for our darker colours when choosing your bowls.

MICROWAVING

REHEAT IT, BUT DON'T COOK IT

Our Styleware Nesting Bowls collection is designed for reheating and eating, not cooking. We’d recommend you stick to a medium wattage (500W) and short bursts with stirring since extreme heat can warp or damage our bowls.

BE CAREFUL WITH CERTAIN FOODS

When heated, foods that are high in fat, sugar, or oil can burn or damage your Styleware pieces. Food like this might best be microwaved in another dish or very briefly microwaved on a lower setting. To avoid staining it is best to avoid heating foods like tomato based sauces, beetroot, curries or foods with high fat or high sugar content. We recommend using another dish for these types of foods. Our darker colourways are the best choice to avoid staining.

LEAVE THE LID OUT

All of our Styleware bowls are compatible with the microwave, but please keep the lids out.

NO GLOVE NO LOVE

When it comes to handling your Styleware bowl, use gloves or mits to protect your precious hands when removing warm food from the microwave.

STAIN IN THE FORECAST?

Those colourful foods like tomato-based sauces, brighter curries and watermelon (go figure!) might cause staining as a result of natural colourants in those foods and vegetables. This has no effect on the quality or functionality of your Styleware but here’s a pro tip: choose darker colours for these kinds of foods.

FIRE SAFETY

This last one is a tip you probably already know, but don’t put your Styleware into a conventional or convection oven, onto a stovetop, or in, on, or under a grill.

REFRIDGERATING + FREEZING

HOLD ON TIGHT

We’ll keep this section short: Low temperatures cause a temporary reduction in impact strength. Or, said even simpler, they’re more likely to break if they’re dropped, so be extra careful when they’re cool or cold.

Can’t see your question here? No probs. Shoot us a line at hello@styleware.com.au anytime, we’d love to help!
